Questions Sermon Series
We all have big questions: This sermon series is a safe place to explore these questions, even if you’re unsure about faith. Through real stories from the life of Jesus, we’ll discover how His message brings hope, purpose, and peace to our everyday lives. Beginning April 27, join us as we explore what Jesus says about life’s biggest questions and why it still matters today.
Summer Lunches
Each summer we provide groceries for children and families in need at the Baker Glover community. Deliveries begin May 27 and we would love to have you join us! You can participate by shopping, packing and delivering. An additional way you can help is by donating your used plastic grocery bags. We will be collecting them May 4th through Sunday, May 25.
This summer, we are anticipate providing approximately 20-25 families with children in our Path Project (in Baker and Glover Trailer Park) with grocery supplies for lunches. During the school year, the children receive free lunches at school. During the summer, the children do not have access to this program, so GFUMC stands in the gap.
There are four time slots each day; one for shopping, one for packing, one for loading/delivering, and one for driving. Shopping means that you will purchase the items needed to fill the list for the week's groceries. You will turn in your receipts to Misty in the church office to be reimbursed. Packing consists of filling two grocery bags per family. The "cold" bags will be left in the cooler and the dry bags will be loaded on carts. Loading/delivering means that you load the bags onto the church bus and ride with the driver, getting out at designated houses to drop off the bags. (We use the bus for delivery because 1) the families know to look for it 2)the volume of the groceries makes it impossible to fit in a personal vehicle and 3)the driver knows the route and makes the delivery time much quicker and smoother) Driving means that you have a CDL to drive the church bus, you are on the church list of approved drivers, and you will drive the route for delivery.
There is one sign-up in each slot. Although one person can do any task alone, it is better (and quicker) with some helpers, so recruit your friends and family! The person who signs up is the "captain" of that slot and serves as the contact in case any change becomes necessary.
Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. If you have any questions, please call or text Mary Wall (205)-242-1372. The families appreciate your participation in this outreach ministry! Thank you!

Casseroles for Foster Families
On Thursday, July 24th, the Foster Care Ministry at Gainesville First United Methodist Church is hosting a Back-to-School Bash for Hall County foster families. Along with providing back-to-school supplies, we would like to offer frozen casseroles for families in the area.
What if you got your children, grandchildren, and neighbors children, and put together casseroles while explaining who they are for and offering a prayer for foster children in our community?
Get family and friends together and host a casserole-making party!
Here is what we are asking:
1. Bring a ready-made casserole to be put in the church freezer before July 22
2. Pray for foster children and families in our community.
Email Misty Leach at mleach@gfumc.com to let her know you are doing a casserole and if you have any questions.

Easter Services
On Friday, He hangs on a cross. On Saturday, He lies dead behind a stone. On Sunday, the tomb is empty and Jesus is alive. Hope has risen! If God can overcome death, there are endless possibilities for what God can do in and through your life. Join us as we celebrate the resurrection of Christ and discover how God meets us in our fear to give us new life.
