During Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October, Gainesville First UMC is honored to host “Faces & Feelings,” a traveling art exhibit presented by Gateway Domestic Violence Center.

The exhibit features artwork created by survivors of domestic violence and children supported by Gateway. Many of the pieces grew out of Gateway’s expressive art therapy program, offering participants a safe, supportive way to express thoughts, emotions, and experiences that can be difficult to put into words.

The gallery will be displayed in The Gathering Room, directly across from the Sanctuary. We invite you to stop by, spend time with these powerful works of art, and learn more about Gateway’s work of providing safety, shelter, and support to those impacted by domestic violence.

May this exhibit deepen our compassion, increase awareness, and remind us that creating a safer community takes all of us.
