Staff Parish Relations Update

Members and Friends of Gainesville First United Methodist Church,

On Sunday, April 3rd, the Staff Parish Relations Committee announced in worship that, in consultation with the SPRC, Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson and her cabinet members have reappointed Rev. Carolyn Clifton and Rev. Liz Millar to Gainesville First United Methodist Church.

The Staff-Parish Relations Committee is also pleased to announce that Rev. Jamey Prickett has been appointed as Senior Pastor of Gainesville First United Methodist Church.

Rev. Joshua Hudson will fill the vacancy of our associate pastor position. Rev. Hudson is currently the pastor of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Buford, Georgia. We welcome Joshua, Jennifer, Lya, and Jack to the Gainesville community.

Rev. Prickett and Rev. Hudson will begin in their new capacity on July 1, 2022.

Gainesville First United Methodist Church is a congregation blessed with solid leadership and faithful members committed to building bridges to Jesus Christ for the transformation of our community and the world.

I invite you to give thanks to the Lord for our clergy and staff and be in prayer for this season of transition. I am confident that our faith in Jesus will propel us onward toward a bright future.

Join me in praying this prayer in the days to come:

Gracious God, Bless us as a congregation as we seek to follow the way you have shown us through the life of Jesus. Guide our pastors to serve you in faithfulness and give them wisdom, humility, and a zeal for you. Empower us all by your Spirit to bear fruit in our lives so that the world may see you in the love we share. Amen.

Sincerely,

Dr. Frank Waggoner
Staff Parish Relations Chair
