She is a 2016 Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Gammon Theological Seminary, earning an M. Div. with a concentration in New Testament.

After a 10-year career in biotechnology, where she worked to find cures for hemophilia, cancer, and HIV, Pastor Keya transitioned to working to end homelessness in the non-profit and government sectors. In June 2018, Pastor Keya was commissioned and appointed Pastor-in-charge of Leland Qwest UMC in Mableton, GA. In September 2020, she was appointed to St. Paul UMC – Summit Street in Gainesville, GA. She is now the Regional Developer for the Southwest District and Black Churches of the North GA Annual Conference.

Her work beyond church ministry includes serving as the Nominations Chair of the North Georgia Black Methodists for Church Renewal, on the North Georgia Conference Board of Ordained Ministry, and as a Supervising Pastor for the Teaching Parish Program at the Candler School of Theology. She has previously served as the secretary of the Interdenominational Black Ministers Association of Gainesville/Hall County, on the Board of the Newtown Florist Club, a member of the United Way of Hall County One Hall United Against Poverty Financial Stability Committee, and the North Georgia Conference Council on Finance and Administration.
