Wednesdays during Advent (12/3, 12/10 and 12/17) / 6pm / Reception Hall
Rev. Jamey Prickett and Ginnie Highsmith will facilitate a deep dive discussion during the Advent season in a series entitled "The God Who Comes Close". Childcare available by reservation ONLY. Email jcauller@gfumc.com.
Advent and Christmas are about more than gifts and busy schedules. It's about the story of a God who comes close. This Advent, we're creating space for families, friends, and anyone curious about faith to pause and discover how Jesus brings hope, peace, and joy into real life.
Each week, we'll open the Bible together, discuss it honestly, and share ways we can live it out. Everyone is welcome, questions are welcome, doubts are welcome. I promise this is for you.
December 3 — The Promise of Light in Darkness
When life feels dark, God hasn't left us. Jesus is the light who came to shine hope into the world.
December 10 — God With Us: The Incarnation
God didn't stay far away. He came as Jesus, born in a manger, living among us, sharing our struggles.
December 17 — The Joy of God's Kingdom Breaking In
The angels' message to the shepherds was "good news of great joy for all people." Jesus' birth marks the beginning of God's kingdom on earth; a world filled with joy, justice, and renewal.
