Hanging of the Greens Service

November 30 / 11am / Sanctuary

Celebrate the Season of Advent

You’re invited to our Hanging of the Greens service on Sunday, November 30 at 11 a.m., which marks the first Sunday of Advent and the beginning of the Christian year. This cherished tradition prepares our sanctuary—and our hearts—for the season of anticipation and hope.

Through scripture readings, singing of carols, and the lighting of the Advent candle symbolizing Hope, we’ll reflect on the promises of Christ’s coming. We honor the tradition of decorating the church with evergreen garlands, the Chrismon tree and ornaments, and other symbols, with each element pointing us toward the joy, peace, and love of the season.

The Chancel Choir will offer special music to enrich this meaningful time of worship. Whether you’ve celebrated Advent for years or are discovering its beauty for the first time, this service is a wonderful way to begin the journey to Christmas.
