Chapel Prayer Time

  • Gainesville First UMC 2780 Thompson Bridge Road Gainesville United States (map)

Signup for your Chapel Prayer time now!

During the season of Lent, we encourage you to pray more intentionally with your group of friends, Soul Connection, or Sunday School class.

The Chapel doors will be open during the Lenten season:

  • 9am - 4pm, Monday - Thursday

  • 12pm - 4pm, Sunday

If you are looking for an example of how to construct your prayer time in the Chapel with your group, I suggest the following:

  1. After hearing the group's concerns, pray The Lord's Prayer together.

  2. Have a moment of silence where you listen for the Holy Spirit to speak to the group.

  3. After a moment of silence, those that feel comfortable praying out loud may offer petitions for the group, church, community, and the world.

  4. A designated person may close the prayer time, or the group prays The Lord's Prayer in unison.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." - Philippians 4:6

"Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with groanings too deep for words." - Romans 8:26

I believe God works through prayer. I believe that God does certain things as a response to prayer.

Your prayers matter. They are important. When Jesus ascended into heaven, we are told that He continued in prayer. He is praying for us. In prayer, we partner with Jesus to bring about God's kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

In Prayer Together,
