Recreation Ministry 

 

The Recreation Ministry provides programs and activities to promote health and well-being for all. Everything is designed to help develop participants mentally, physically and spiritually. As believers, we are called to be good stewards of the body God has given us and it helps to be surrounded by others with the same goal in mind – whole person health.

Special events such as birthday parties, Sunday School activities, and banquets can be reserved in the MAC. For more information about any of the recreation activities or special events at the MAC, contact the Church Office at 770.536.2341.


Walking Track

The walking track is a marked indoor track which includes the halls in and around the GREAT Room (11 laps equals one mile).

Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8am - 9pm
Wednesday and Fridays, 8am - 5pm


Fitness Room

Our Fitness Room (Room S-141) is equipped with a Total Body Aerobic Rider, Concept 2 Indoor Rower, Life Fitness Ab Crunch Bench, Schwinn Airdyne and Cardio Max Air bicycles, PreCor and Pacemaster treadmills, Life Fitness and PreCor ERX elliptical machines, and a multistation weight machine.    

Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8am - 8pm
Wednesdays & Fridays, 8am - 5pm

Sign in at the desk at the MAC and work out. There is no fee for church members to use the Fitness Room. You must be 16 or older to use the room. 


Exercise Classes


Active Older Adults Exercise

Monday & Friday, 10am - 11am
Fee: $30 per month or $5 walk-in

A class formatted for active older adults who may be returning back to fitness or are looking for a program to just started! Built for beginners or veteran exercise enthusiasts, this class works for all levels of fitness. Throughout the 60 minute class we work to develop cardiovascular strength and endurance using both low impact floor and step aerobics, we also use hand held weights, body bars and elastic tubing for muscular strength and endurance development and last but certainly not least we use the balance balls to help strengthen the core and develop and maintain flexibility and balance!



Yoga

Tuesday, 9am - 10am
Fee: $30 per month or $7 walk-in

The practice of yoga makes the body strong and flexible, it also improves the functioning of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive, and hormonal systems. Yoga brings about emotional stability and clarity of mind.  Sometimes yoga can be physically demanding but will build strength, flexibility, and stamina.
 


Body Sculpt Weight & Toning

Wednesday, 9am - 10:15am
Fee: $30 per month or $7 walk-in


Tone and strengthen your whole body with hand weights, body weights and resistance bands. You will improve muscle strength, endurance and gain definition! Some cardio segments also included.
