Adult Sunday Groups

Whether you are retired or just starting a career, married or single, having that first baby or adjusting to an “empty nest,” you need community! We weren’t meant to do life alone!

Gainesville First is a great place for you to connect with others! We offer groups for adults in every stage of life and with varied interests and needs. You will find a place to belong here! No matter what group suits you, you’ll be supported, encouraged and given the opportunity to grow in your relationship with Christ and share His love with others.


Journey/rebuilders

Room S-01

Who:  Couples and singles with children elementary school through college.  Ages:  30-45, Medium Class.

How:  Discussion oriented, Bible Study and Topical Study, August - May.

Why:  We seek to grow as parents and partners in our journey of faith.  Studies are geared towards strengthening relationships and our faith.

How:  Discussion oriented, Bible Study and Topical Study, Year-Round

Why:  We seek to explore our lives as followers of Christ and how that affects us a husbands,wives, or parents.  We offer informal Bible study and Christian conversation.

Who:  Couples Ages:  50-65, Small Class

How:  Mix of Lecture and Discussion, Year-Round

Why:  We seek to grown in our relationship with and love of Christ through the study of God’s Word.  We offer friendship, support, and encouragement to walk in faith every day with stimulating, practical discussion.

Why:  We are a diverse group in knowledge and age, but are united in our belief in the Lord.

Why:  We seek to renovate our hearts and minds with the transforming love, grace and power of Jesus Christ– that we might become a blessing.  Technology and new learning formats are front and center with thought provoking material from pastors and thinkers.

Why:  We are an intimate class seeking to strengthen our daily walk with God. Our class studies focuses on using the Bible to encourage and enable practical, meaningful living.

Why:  We seek to learn and grow through Bible study, outreach, and fellowship.  Seekers are prayerful, caring, sharing, and loving– both individually and as a cohesive group.

How:  Presentation Oriented Bible and Topical Study with Discussion, Year-Round

Why:  We seek to support the mission of GFUMC through our emphasis on study, service and witness.  We offer lessons led by master teachers, outreach opportunities, retreats, and many opportunities for fellowship.

Who:  Couples and Singles, Ages:  65-85, Large class

How:  Presentation Oriented Bible Study with Discussion, Year-Round

Why:  We seek to care for our class members and grow in faith through the quarterly International Lesson series.  We hold numerous socials and give to a verity of mission and outreach organizations.

How:  Topical Presentations with Discussion, Class in session September - May.

Why:  We seek to foster spirited discussions of life, faith and how they intersect.  We are particularly focused on contemporary Christian theology, social issues, and the spiritual life.

How:  Presentation Oriented Bible and Topical Study with Discussion, Year-Round

Why:  We are a friendly and dynamic class of mature Christians, many of whom call Lanier Village Estates home.  We are committed to study and outreach.

Why:  We seek to offer interesting and relevant discussions on a variety of Bible topics.  We share class leadership and teaching.

Why:  We seek to finish the race well with study from the International Lesson series and guest teachers.  We offer love, support and encouragement.
