Sunday Morning Curriculum

All of our Sunday Morning Kids Ministry Programs from birth to 5th grade use the Orange Curriculum. The philosophy of the Orange curriculum is simple, it is to combine the critical influences of the church and home to incite wonder, provoke discovery and fuel passion in the hearts of the next generation.

On Sunday mornings, our preschool and younger children use First Look.  First impressions are important. First Look gives preschool children a first impression of their loving heavenly Father. The curriculum keeps it simple and fun, repeating one basic truth about God all month long. First Look also helps children understand worship and introduces them to small group time.

The activities tickle all the senses making mastering the concepts a blast. Crazy fun activities to crafts to large group Bible Story and worship time to small group Bible time; it's all part of the plan to help children believe three key things by the time they are 5 years old:

  • God made me.
  • God loves me.
  • Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Our elementary children use 252 Basics.  252 Basics equips kids with basic truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52:

  • I need to make the wise choice.
  • I can trust God no matter what.
  • I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

252 Basic invites kids into the Story of God, to show them the character of God, all while helping them internalize the 3 Basic Truths. On Sunday mornings, children participate in large group/small group learning experiences, where they unpack short simple Bible truths through games, crafts, science experiments, engaging discussions and unforgettable videos.

Part of the Orange Curriculum is that the learning does not stop at church, but continues throughout the week at home with the help of parents. Each week, parents are equipped with a resource called a Parent CUE. The Parent CUE is designed for parents to use in their everyday lives, by equipping them to use everyday moments as ways to connect their child to God's story, to uncover something about life and to experience something about the faith together.  For the most current Parent CUE, check out the Parent CUE section of our website.
