Begins Sunday, December 2 in all worship services

The arrival of Jesus was a divine moment that changed history forever. For thousands of years, the world waited for a prophesied answer to hope, love and redemption. Let's celebrate this Advent season by reflecting on the beautiful and perfect coming of our answer to brokenness and hope for salvation. Worship with us at Gainesville FIrst Sundays at 8:30, 9:30, and 10:55am.

Advent study: The Gift of New Hope

The Gift of New Hope invites readers to explore their yearning for God’s presence through a study of the lectionary Bible readings for Advent and Christmas. Each week’s Scriptures call us to praise God as we actively await the coming of Christ and prepare our hearts and lives for his arrival. Through the readings, we hear the invitation to claim and celebrate the new hope we have in Jesus Christ.

The season of Advent offers opportunities to prepare for God’s coming in human form in the infant Jesus and for the fulfillment of God’s kingdom with the second coming of Christ. Hope is the focus of Advent worship, study, and prayer. We will discover the light that began in the manger, which continues as we look forward with hope to Christ’s return.

The book costs $8 and is available now in the Church Office.

Angel Trees

Stop by the Gathering Room or MAC Lobby, in early December, to select an ornament from an Angel Tree and make a difference in the life of a child. Our gifts support Murphy-Harpst Children’s Centers, an independent, not-for-profit organization committed to meeting the needs of abused and neglected children and young people.
