David Burchett, Director of Student Ministry, has been at GFUMC since November 2004, although he has been in ministry for more than 10 years.

David is originally from Bartlesville, Oklahoma but attended North Carolina State University where he majored in Horticulture and Turfgrass Management. He is married to Joanna and has two daughters, Kaitlin and Kasey. David enjoys sports, reading and music. 

David works with the youth (grades 6-12) of GFUMC. He organizes and attends several big events with the youth each year including multiple retreats, Bible studies, mission trips, and the Sunday night youth program, The Harbor. David is frequently seen in the halls of our local high schools and attends FCA and numerous sporting events in which our GFUMC youth members participate.

David’s main goal in his ministry at GFUMC is to introduce young people to Jesus Christ. He enjoys walking with them as they grow and develop in their relationship with Christ. What excites David the most is when he sees a young person come to Christ and fully realize that God has a full life planned for them - all according to His amazing plan.
