Medical Equipment

Medical Equipment Ministry

The Medical Equipment Ministry at GFUMC provides donated medical equipment to members of the congregation who need it. Available equipment includes wheelchairs, walkers, canes, shower chairs, bedside commodes and commode risers.

The equipment can be signed out Monday through Friday by contacting the Church Office at 770.536.2341 or Lori Floyd.  All equipment may be kept until there is no longer a need for it.  There is not a charge to borrow this equipment.  We have served many of our members with this ministry.

Prayer Quilts copy

Prayer Quilt Ministry
Meets every Thursday

10 a.m. - 3 p.m. in Room S-02

Do you like to quilt? Would you like to learn how? Something you may not know: You don't need to be able to sew in order to help with this mnistry! Drop in as your schedule allows and see what this ministry is all about. Prayer Quilts are given to persons who are ill, have suffered loss, or who are in the midst of a life crisis. Quilts will also be given to babies who are baptized at GFUMC.

If you would like more information about this ministry, please contact Mindy Liggett at 770.532.5600.

During the month of April, you are invited to consecrate Prayer Quilts that have been placed in the Prayer Room. The idea behind these quilts is simple, yet powerful. A heavy thread is used to take stitches through the quilt layers, and the ends are left free to be tied with a square knot. As each knot is tied, a silent prayer is offered for someone in special need.  Each week in April new quilts will be placed in the Prayer room for consecration.
