Great Day of Service

Saturday, March 21

He changed the world with His two hands, what will you do with yours?

Join us to serve the community for GFUMC’s 9th Great Day of Service, Saturday, March 21.

Last year the love of Christ was shown as 493 volunteers gave 1,479 hours to complete 37 unique service projects in the Gainesville/Hall County Area.  We are praying for even more impact in 2015, and we need you to make that happen!
This year we will serve:
Georgia Mtn. Food Bank by sorting food, completing general maintenance work & possibly painting a mural.  Their mission is to address hunger, health & quality of life by serving those in need.
Center Point by doing yard work and general cleaning.  They are a youth development program providing mentoring, counseling and drug prevention through Christian education.
Stop Hunger Now in the hopes to end hunger in our lifetime by providing food & lifesaving aid to the world’s most vulnerable.  We hope to be making meals that will feed 20,000 people!

By baking & delivering cookies to our local fire departments & police stations to show them appreciation for all they do for our community.  Who knows, you may be invited in & given a tour of their facilities & even sit in the cab of a fire truck!

The Humane Society of NE GA by spreading mulch in the dog exercise area.  Families or individuals can learn about safe animal handling & training in order to walk the animals safely on a leash. They are committed to being life savers of adoptable animals.

These are just a few of the volunteer opportunities, more are available on the online registration form, or you can pick up a brochure and registration form from Sunday, February 8 to Sunday, March 1.
Jesus’ message of love and actions changed the world. He calls his people to make a difference and serve one another. Great Day of Service is the perfect opportunity for us to live out our faith. Will you answer the call?
